Winter Safety for Outdoor Play
Winter play is enjoyable when you prepare well.
Dress in layers
Use a moisture-wicking base layer, an insulating middle layer and a wind-proof outer layer. Protect hands, feet and head.
Be careful on ice
Natural ice can be unsafe, and conditions change. Use supervised rinks or follow local authority advice before stepping onto a frozen pond or lake.
Plan for daylight
Winter days are short. Tell someone where you are going, carry a charged phone and know when it will get dark.
